Legal notice
Terms of use, privacy practices, trademark notices, and related policies for Serverboid. Last updated 13 August 2026.
Serverboid (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent fan-made directory of publicly listed Project Zomboid multiplayer servers. By accessing or using the website, APIs, or related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to these terms and policies. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
This page is provided for transparency and risk allocation. It is not personal legal advice. You should consult a qualified lawyer for advice about your specific situation.
You may use the Service only in compliance with these terms, applicable law, and any rules posted on the Service. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access at any time, including for suspected abuse, security risk, or legal compliance.
The Service is offered “as available.” Features, listing data, and availability may change without notice. We may refuse service, remove content, or shut down parts of the Service at our discretion.
Some features require an account. You must provide accurate registration information, keep credentials confidential, and promptly update details that become outdated. You are responsible for activity under your account.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and you must comply with age and content rules of any games or platforms you connect to through listings (including Steam and Discord).
We may disable accounts that violate these terms, appear compromised, or create risk for other users or the Service.
Listings may be submitted by users, discovered from public sources, or updated from public game-server query responses. Listing details (name, description, player counts, links, images, and similar fields) may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
Appearing in the directory does not mean we endorse, operate, moderate, or control a server. Connecting to a third-party server is at your own risk. Server operators—not Serverboid—are responsible for their rules, moderation, security, privacy practices, and compliance with game publisher terms.
If you claim or manage a listing, you represent that you are authorized to do so and that your listing content is lawful and non-infringing.
You agree not to:
“User Content” includes listing text, images, links, account profile details, and other material you submit. You retain rights you already have in your User Content. You grant Serverboid a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for formatting/technical reasons), and distribute that User Content in connection with operating and promoting the Service.
You represent that you have all rights needed to grant that license and that your User Content does not infringe law or third-party rights. We may remove or edit User Content for any reason, including legal risk or policy violations, and are not obligated to host it indefinitely.
The Serverboid name, branding, site design, software, and original compilation of the directory (excluding third-party content and trademarks) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our software or branding except as allowed by law or with prior written permission.
Public server metadata obtained from open network queries or public APIs may be displayed for directory purposes. That does not transfer ownership of any game assets, server content, or third-party trademarks to you or to us.
Project Zomboid and related marks, logos, and game assets are trademarks or copyrighted works of The Indie Stone or their respective owners. Steam and related marks are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Discord and related marks are trademarks of Discord Inc. Other product and company names mentioned on the Service may be trademarks of their respective owners.
Serverboid is an unofficial, independent fan project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to The Indie Stone, Project Zomboid, Valve / Steam, Discord Inc., or any server operator unless we expressly say so in writing.
References to those names and marks are for identification and descriptive purposes only (for example, to help players find Project Zomboid servers). All trademarks remain the property of their owners. If you are a rights holder and believe a use on this Service is improper, contact us using the details below and we will review the request promptly.
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice that includes:
Send notices to the contact address in Contact. We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material and, where appropriate, terminate repeat infringers. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice with corresponding detail.
Serverboid may offer paid Sponsored placements — one-time digital promotions that highlight an approved listing (for example on the homepage and in browse). Sponsored is a promotional service for your listing; it is not a guarantee of player joins, traffic volume, rank position, or revenue.
When the service starts. Placement begins as soon as payment succeeds (or when we apply the Sponsored status after confirming payment). Buying additional time extends an existing Sponsored period from the later of “now” or the current Sponsored end date.
Cooling-off / cancellation. Under UK distance-selling rules, consumers may have a 14-day right to cancel certain online purchases. Sponsored is a paid digital promotional service. Before checkout you must expressly request that we begin providing your Sponsored placement immediately, before the end of any applicable 14-day cancellation period. If you exercise a statutory right to cancel before the placement has been fully provided, you may be required to pay for the proportion of the Sponsored service already supplied. Once the Sponsored service has been fully provided, you lose any applicable statutory right to cancel for that purchase. This does not affect other statutory rights that cannot be excluded by law.
Refunds. Subject to any statutory rights above, Sponsored fees are otherwise non-refundable for change of mind after the service has been fully provided, low traffic, dissatisfaction with results, listing or game-server downtime, moderation actions taken for terms violations, or your own configuration mistakes. If payment succeeds but we fail to apply Sponsored to the correct approved listing due to an error on our side, contact us and we will either apply the placement or refund that payment.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card statements and receipts are issued through Stripe. Billing questions and refund requests for failed delivery should go to contact@serverboid.com.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable UK consumer law.
We process personal data needed to run the Service, including:
We use this information to provide accounts, display and moderate listings, process Sponsored payments, improve the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with processors that help us host email, infrastructure, payments (Stripe), or security functions, and when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request. We may retain records as needed for legal, security, or operational purposes.
Do not submit sensitive personal data in public listing fields. Server operators may collect their own player data when you join their servers; their privacy practices are separate from ours.
The Service may link to or integrate with third parties, including Steam, Discord, game servers, hosting providers, email delivery, Stripe (payments for Sponsored), and image or geolocation data sources. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices.
Connecting via steam:// links, Discord invites, or direct IP/port connections leaves our Service and is solely between you and the third party.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
We do not warrant that listings are accurate, that servers are safe or online, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects will be corrected. You assume all risk for downloading, connecting, or interacting with third-party servers and links found through the Service.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SERVERBOID AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) TEN POUNDS STERLING (£10) OR LOCAL EQUIVALENT.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Serverboid and its operators from and against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your User Content, your server listings or servers, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.
We may update this Legal page from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated terms, except where applicable law requires a different process for material changes.
